James Kudo – Puxadinho

James Kudo was born in a town that turned into water.
His works cite the formica that used to cover counter tops and cabinets in the 1970s, the patterns from table cloths, almost always elements the boy used to see in the kitchens of the homes of a town that currently has no name, a New Atlantis, flooded in water.

James Kudo, born 1967 in Pereira Barreto, Brazil, lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil.

We mourn our friend and benefactor, the artist and philosopher Prince Rudolf zur Lippe, who died on 6 September 2019.

He made thoughts dance and people move.

During the exhibition in Erfurt, which shows works from the cycle "Learning from the Birds" in the church of the Augustinian monastery, he wanted to talk to us about it and how it is linked to Goethe and Alexander von Humboldt.

We will miss him greatly, not only there.
